He owned a heavily modified Wrangler.

Thirty-five-inch tires.

Lift kit.

Winch.

The kind of vehicle that spent ninety percent of its life parked outside a house with perfectly edged grass.

Robert announced he could bypass the gate through the landscaping and rejoin the county road.

Several residents told him not to.

He did anyway.

The western shoulder contained a drainage swale feeding protected seasonal wetland below the development.

The surface looked firm.

It was not.

Robert climbed the curb.

Drove through ornamental grass.

Dropped into the swale.

Made approximately fifteen feet.

Then all four tires sank.

He accelerated.

The Jeep dug deeper.

Mud sprayed over one of the entrance monument walls.

A child applauded.

Robert stopped.

The Jeep remained there until Monday because tow operators would not enter the disputed area without owner authorization, and the easiest recovery angle crossed Daniel’s parcel.

At 12:30, county environmental compliance received photographs.

Robert eventually received a separate citation for disturbing marked drainage vegetation.

That part had nothing to do with me.

He created it himself.

Saturday afternoon, Carolyn found a locksmith.

The man’s name was Frank Nelson.

He operated a mobile locksmith service.

He was bonded.

Not shady.

Just misinformed.

Carolyn told him the HOA owned the gate and had lost access to a community lock.

Frank arrived at 4:10.

Saw the hardened padlock.

Pulled out an angle grinder.

Then noticed the private property sign.

“Who owns this?”

“The HOA.”

“Why is someone else’s attorney on it?”

“Long story.”

“I need proof.”

Carolyn produced HOA documents for the entrance road.

None proved ownership of my strip.

Frank refused.

Robert yelled at him.

Frank packed his grinder and left.

That should have been the end.

Carolyn called a second person.

This one was less careful.

At 6:20, a handyman arrived with battery tools.

Oliver had anticipated tampering.

Not through genius.

Because Carolyn had already threatened to tow my truck from my own property.

He hired a private security officer to monitor the entrance from public right-of-way for the weekend.

The officer watched the handyman place a grinder against the lock.

Then called the sheriff.

Brody returned.

He was no longer patient.

“Stop.”

The handyman immediately stopped.

Carolyn began explaining.

Brody held up one hand.

“I told you yesterday this is disputed private property.”

“He abandoned us.”

“He posted an attorney’s number.”

“He cannot block us.”

“That is for a judge.”

“He is committing extortion.”

“Then your attorney can file.”

Robert shouted:

“Do something.”

Brody pointed toward the lock.

“If anyone cuts this gate without a court order, after you have now been directly warned, I will document the property damage and refer it for charges.”

Carolyn stared.

“You’re threatening me?”

“No.”

“I’m explaining what happens if you intentionally damage property.”

Brody then looked at the handyman.

“You understand?”

“Completely.”

He left.

Saturday evening, Timothy Caldwell filed an emergency motion requesting temporary vehicular access.

But courts do not magically open because a wealthy subdivision has dinner plans.

A duty judge reviewed the filing.

Because emergency services remained available and pedestrians were not confined, the judge declined to issue an ex parte order transferring disputed property control without giving my side an opportunity to respond.

Hearing Monday morning.

That decision enraged Crest View.

It also gave local news time to notice.

By Sunday morning, Channel 8 had a reporter outside the gate.

The segment initially ran as:

“Luxury Community Cut Off in Unusual Property Dispute.”

Residents gave interviews.
