"They regret," he said when she finished. "They don't say he was wrong like wrong is a fact. They say inappropriate like it's a fashion mistake."
"Yes," Naomi said.
"Do I have to keep it?"
"We keep it because it's part of the record. You don't have to look at it."
He returned to his homework. After a minute he said, "Put it in the binder. Not on the fridge."
Naomi laughed despite herself. "Deal."
